Olivia Monton

General Surgery Resident Physician, Ontario, Canada

Olivia Monton is a third-year General Surgery Resident at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. Her research focuses on improving education and supportive care for cancer patients and their caregivers, with a particular emphasis on rectal cancer survivors experiencing low anterior resection syndrome (LARS).

Passionate about enhancing the quality of life of rectal cancer survivors, she has contributed to the development of an online educational and supportive care application (eLARS) under the supervision of Dr. Marylise Boutros. This initiative has been evaluated through a prospective pilot study and clinical trial, and she is now working to integrate artificial intelligence to further enhance patient education and clinical decision-making in LARS management.
