Félix Bonilla Espinosa

Dr. Bonilla is a colorectal surgeon based in São Paulo, Brazil. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) and the Panamanian Association of Coloproctology. Born and trained as a colorectal surgeon in Panama City, Panama, he is currently a second-year Coloproctology resident at Hospital das Clínicas and Instituto do Câncer de São Paulo. His clinical and academic interests center on endoscopic salvage of anastomotic complications, with particular emphasis on the diagnosis and management of Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS), as well as on patient education and supportive care throughout the colorectal cancer treatment journey. He is also exploring the application of Artificial Intelligence for patient education purposes.
