Dr. András Fülöp, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Department of Surgery, Transplantation and Gastroenterology, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. He graduated summa cum laude from Semmelweis University and subsequently earned his PhD, focusing on liver regeneration and experimental liver surgery.
Following his early work in hepatobiliary research, his scientific interests have increasingly shifted toward colorectal surgery, with a particular focus on improving perioperative outcomes. His research encompasses Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS). Dr. Fülöp has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 90 and an h-index of 13. He is actively involved in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervises numerous research projects. Clinically, his main area of expertise is the surgical management of colorectal cancer, with special interest in minimally invasive techniques, including robotic and transanal surgery.
