Azmina Rose

BSc (distinction), PG Cert/Dip, MSc Patient representative, LARS Collaborative. Lead for Personalised Cancer Care and Cancer Patient Experience Royal Free London Group of Hospitals

Azmina Rose became a patient representative for colorectal surgery and GI medicine in 2012, aiming to use her own experience to improve the quality of care and support for future patients. She became involved in the international LARS consensus work in 2017, contributing to the original LARS consensus definition, and advocating for the patient voice to always be heard. Azmina is a firm believer that patient partnerships strengthen research, and she has previously led a number of patient involvement initiatives in the UK, representing ACPGBI, BSG and GlobalSurg research groups. Azmina is based in London, England where she works for the NHS and lives happily with her husband, her cats and her ileostomy.
