Dr Mario Pagano is a colorectal surgeon and proctologist, who graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome and completed his residency in General Surgery at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan.
He received advanced training in leading international centres in Paris (Hôpital Beaujon, Hôpital Paris Saint-Joseph) and London (Homerton Anal Neoplasia Service), with specific interest in pelvic floor disorders, complex perianal fistulas, proctologic manifestations of Crohn’s disease, rectal cancer and HPV-related lesions.
He is currently a consultant surgeon at the Proctology and Pelvic Floor Surgery Unit of the Isola Tiberina Hospital – Gemelli Isola in Rome.
He is author of publications in international journals, serves on the Early Career Advisory Board of Colorectal Disease and is a member of the Training and Advanced Specialization Committee of SICCR, as well as an active member of several national and international surgical societies.
