Peter Christensen is consultant colorectal surgeon and professor in pelvic floor surgery at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. He had lead the development of the multidisciplinary pelvic floor unit and know head up the Danish Cancer Society National Research Centre for late adverse effect to cancer in the pelvic organs. His research covers a broad spectrum including organ rehabilitation following cancer therapy, development of patient reported outcome measures and surgery for bowel dysfunction. He has a dedicated interest in minimal invasive treatment modalities for functional bowel dysfunction and in rectal prolapse surgery. He is member of the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) Programme Committee, the ESCP Communication Committee and the ESCP Global Reach Committee. He is newly appointed as Honorary Fellow of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons.
